Olympia Provisions
This right here is my new favorite breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks spot and I don’t know if that will EVER change. I said it in the instagram caption but I’ll say it again and I’ll say it with my CHEST, the amazing people over at Olympia Provisions really treated Sus and I like the absolute princesses that we are, and this is what we all deserve every time we walk into a new establishment.
Upon arriving, we were greeted with sweet smiles and impeccable service. I think the servers caught my eye as I walked in and they immediately sensed that I needed hard liquor in my system. I had the Purple Noon cocktail but subbed gin for vodka and I cannot recommend this enough. The drink was so lovely and botanical and just absolutely perfect for a warm summers day. This cocktail single handedly helped me forget everything that was bothering me about my day before I stepped into the restaurant. An absolute lifesaver.
After sitting down, the food started coming in. Oh my god, I was shaking in my boots trying to figure out how I was going to fit enough of each and every dish into my stomach, but don’t worry, I persevered. We started with the French board which just honestly has every little thing you could ever ask for. The board includes two cuts of salami, pickles, peppers, dried fruit, ground mustard, paté, pork shoulder, and some delightful soft cheeses. After the board we were served a smoky, chilled gazpacho which was surprisingly one of my absolute favorites of the evening. After that, we had steak tartare with crunchy crostinis and octopus carpaccio with flatbread. Our dinner was finished out with chicken thighs and potatoes in a tomato sauce. When I tell you that every little thing we ate was just perfection, I’m not lying or even exaggerating. You know when you eat a dish and you can just tell that the chef really cares about what they’re making? Well we got that sense with every single one of the dishes we were served. Each of the little elements on each of the plates was so thought out and deliberate, they miss NOTHING in that kitchen.
After dinner my stomach literally felt like a water balloon about to pop, I was so full. But did that stop us from ordering dessert? Abso-fucking-lutely not. We were served a berry tart with bourbon-vanilla ice cream and a sprinkling of powdered sugar. Of course it was absolutely delectable. We literally had to roll out of the restaurant but I didn’t regret a single thing. For your next date, shiva, baptism, whatever, you need to go to Olympia Provisions. There’s nothing like good, thought-out food to make a bad day turn into a great one in the blink of an eye.
