QD’s Neighborhood Bar

Do you like boozy ICEEs? Or vintage video games? Or photo booths? Or random men who leave their dog with you while they go to the bathroom for a suspicious amount of time? If you answered yes to the first three questions (the fourth is a story for another time), then QD’s Bar is definitely a place that you need to check out immediately.

When you walk into the side entrance of QD’s on Flanders you immediately notice two things: the mouthwatering scent of fresh pizza and the incredibly cool aesthetic of a vintage-style bar complete with a pool room, gallery walls of vintage posters, and a fully functioning ICEE machine gleaming under the lights of a giant disco ball. Hell yeah, this place is 100% where you’ll find me sucking down cocktails and bingeing on cheesy, greasy ‘za for the foreseeable future.

QD’s opened in January of 2024 and has immediately integrated itself into the Pearl District nightlife scene. If you’re looking for a place to hang out on Thursday nights, check out their Country Thursdays or if you’re looking to do something next week, join the QD’s crew during their 4th of July Block Party. They often will also host weekend themed parties, with their most recent being a y2k night that had a DJ and an on-site tattoo artist. You know what I always say, spiked slushies + tattoos = good decisions.

While Sus and I were there, we drank approximately 22 Blood Orange Palomas and a couple BBL Drops. I drank the BBL Drop because I thought I would wake up with an ass like Kim K. I’m still waiting to see final results but I’m hopeful. In reality, the BBL Drop is a citrusy mix of lemon and blueberry, you’ll love this if you like yourself a fruity beverage to get the party going. The Blood Orange Paloma was my personal favorite drink of the night with its hint of blood orange added to the classic grapefruit juice and tequila mix found in your standard Paloma, it’s one of those drinks that makes you want to run around the streets naked (don’t actually do this, you’ll get arrested). If you need food after drinking a copious amount of liquor at the bar, I highly recommend going to the front of the building and indulging in their onsite Wild Child Pizza shop. It is the epitome of having the best of both worlds at your fingertips.

If you’re looking for a guaranteed good time in Portland, this is the place you should go. Their vintage theme is unforgettable and I literally felt like I was walking into a BeeGees music video which is my preferred vibe for any night out. Show QD’s some love and bring your friend group here to drink, eat, and play pool. We’ll see you there!
